Since the war in Iraq began, military contractors from the U.S. have been slaughtered by both legislators and the press. And it’s not for bad reason: Private U.S. companies like Haliburton and (most recently) Blackwater have engaged in corruption, wasteful spending, and all-around bad behavior...like killing Iraqi citizens.
A whopping 72% of Americans say that they are dissatisfied with how things are going in this country, according to a USA Today/Gallup Poll, only 26% say they are happy with it.
Americans spend double what people in other industrialized countries do on health care, but have more trouble seeing doctors, are the victims of more errors and go without treatment more often.
The report studied the health care systems of: The U.S., Britain, Germany, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
FACT: The United States spent $6,687 per person on health care in 2005 (that’s 16% of GDP.) Every other country spent less than half of that: Australia spent $3,128, for example. Canada spent $3,326.
